The Killer Bees

Nyssa, age 18 mths in her role as "killer bee". Posted by Picasa
"Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams." ~ Ashley Smith
This is one of the worst pictures I have of the Nys but all the others are lost in the depths of the storage unit right now. This Halloween, Nyssa and her little friend Steven (see picture on expanded post) were bees. I made their costumes from scratch with no pattern. What isn't visible are the two wings hanging down behind and the white stuffed stinger attached. They wore black tights and shoes and Rhonda (Steven's mom & Nyssa's sitter) and I made head band antennae with pipe cleaners and painted Styrofoam balls. We had their picture made together at Walmart and that is one of the "stored" photos.

Rhonda's church had a big Halloween party for the kids instead of the house to house candy binge. They had all the kids enter the costume contest so Steven and Nyssa went as a group entry, "The Killer Bees". They won "BEST COSTUME" for the pre-school age group; as a combined entry of course. I think they each got a little Bible story book, but more importantly they had a blast each trying to fence with their antennae.

Steven and Nyssa reading together. (end of post)
