Thanksgiving Part 1: The Pilgrims

Nyssa, A First Grade Pilgrim (1992) Posted by Picasa
"I awoke this morning with a devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new. Shall I not call God the Beautiful, who daily showeth himself to me in his gifts?" ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
The first grade classes at Immanuel had a special Thanksgiving lunch each year right before the holiday. Some were to dress as Pilgrims and others as Indians. Nyssa wanted to be a Pilgrim; and a fine Pilgrim girl she made.

If you click on the pictures (enlarge) you might notice something interesting about her hair. She has that enviable hair that will fall in ringlets on its own, hold curl all day if curled overnight and keep a straight sleek look when flat-ironed. But in these something is missing! Where are those curly long bangs? What is that peeking out from her white Pilgrim hat? This is another post unto itself.....

But we will just have to save that for later. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
