Waterdance Or Birds Of A Feather, Dance Together

Birds of a feather, dance together. Mt. Trashmore Park, Virginia Beach.

"Light quirks of music, broken and uneven,
Make the soul dance upon a jig to Heav'n."
~ Alexander Pope, Moral Essays
Sometimes, even the squawking, selfish, obnoxious seagulls fighting over a crust of bread thrown into the air by a child, can create a beautiful moment in time. Hovering just above the water, their wings and feet stir the water and throw tiny droplets into the air. They seem frozen in a crazy dance....a waterdance....more serenely beautiful from below than the fracas in progress above.

I love how you see the beauty of the seagulls.  They can be such a pain at the beach.

I always smile when I read "Mt. Trashmore."

To see this astounding photo, then read Mt. Trashmore under it, kind of blows my mind. A total oxymoron. Why would anyone ever name a place such a thing, anyway? But I digress...this photo both amazes and astounds me. I know it's very silly, but the first thing that came to mind was that the birds were being lifted up to Heaven...don't know why such an image came to me! Perhaps because it looks a bit like they are being lifted up somehow. But good art puts thoughts like this in your head, doesn't it? It expands your mind to think things that you never would, that are out of the box. And I believe this is art at it's best.

<span>That is a fantastic photo!  They look like they are dancing in the air.  The water is like a painting of motion.  Terrific!

Great shot, you had good timing to catch them in the air.

An "air dance", as it were, and so much better in reflection that in direct sight!
