"We need the enthusiasm of the young. We need their 'joie de vivre'. In it is reflected something of the original joy God had in creating man." ~ Pope John Paul IIThe prompt for Moody Monday this week is "ebullient", meaning "full of joyful, unrestrained high spirits and zestfully enthusiastic". Anyone with a small child experiences this on a daily basis; everything is new, each experience is a "first time" and joy is plentiful. Life is easy and simple pleasures of a Happy Meal and the chance to romp in the plastic balls brings smiles and contagious laughter. Of course this was taken when the world was friendlier, before twisted people began to drop open needles and syringes in the play area. Today I would think twice before letting Nyssa near one... but then, though only eighteen years ago, the world was a safer place. I wonder if she remembers this day?
