At Home With Great-Grandma

Nyssa and Great-grandma before. Posted by Picasa
"There is a magic in that little world, home; it is a mystic circle that surrounds comforts and virtues never known beyond its hallowed limits"
~ Robert Southey (English Poet and Writer of prose. 1774-1843)
Before the Alzheimer's was discovered. Before the stroke that limited her ability to walk and speak and interact. Before she no longer recognized her family. Before those bad times, there were the good times; playing with her great-granddaughter on the back patio, working in her garden, pushing a bundled-up little girl around the backyard in a wheelbarrow, having tea parties, reading a book, quilting priceless quilts with remnants of a little girl's dresses, and crocheting multi-colored afghans. These are the good times, the "homey" times I like to remember before the Alzheimer's took away my grandmother, Nyssa's great-grandmother.

Submission to Moody Monday for topic "homey".
