Yellow (Click picture for larger view)

"It gives one a sudden start in going down a barren, stony street, to see upon a narrow strip of grass, just within the iron fence, the radiant dandelion, shining in the grass, like a spark dropped from the sun" ~ Henry Ward BeecherThe air is cold, the wind is blowing in from the north and we've already had one frost. Imagine my surprise to see a single dandelion lift its yellow head from the grass, surrounded by brown and red leaves that are now curled and dried. I wonder if it will manage to go to seed before the lawn has its last mowing for the winter. It certainly is a brave little flower.
