Colonial Christmas: Shells Part 1

This post and the next Christmas decoration post will show wreaths with seafarer themes. Above the artist used oyster shells arranged in a flower-like pattern with artichoke, dried chili peppers and oranges and a variety of dried grasses and berries. For accent two long white pipes are added. (Click read more for additional pictures)



Above the oyster shells encircle the wreath, this time with dried flowers and seed pods and the pineapple accents. Below is a macro shot of the first wreath showing the smooth lining of the shells and the blending of colors in the red chili peppers and berries with the dried orange slices. I really had a hard time picking a favorite.
