Depth of Field: the flower and the foot. (Click picture for larger view)

"Great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field." ~Peter AdamsAlthough I wouldn't call this picture great by any means, it is one of my favorite. It reflects the summer day, full of warmth and color; welcoming, now that we are poised to enter the grays and browns of winter. It has both depth of field and depth of feeling; the first due to the blurry but identifiable foot beneath the flower, and the second because that foot belongs to my lovely daughter, Nyssa, whom I love more than life.
