"What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace." ~ Agnes M. Pharo
Large ornaments of red and green decorate shelves and tables in the Yankee Candle Company stores of Williamsburg. It is a festive village with old fashioned streets and small shops opening to the center courtyard. There an intricate mechanical puppet show takes place over timed intervals and shoppers can sit at small cafe tables and have a bite to eat. High above your head, a toy train track weaves its way in and out of the shops; the train rolls along the tracks complete with the occasional low whistle and wafting smoke from the engine. Walking through the main doors, you enter into a fantasy of days gone by and the outside world can be forgotten for hours. Here the past, present and future combine to bring a sense of delight for children and adults alike.
