"Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees."
~ Robert Frost, A Prayer in Spring
Spring is in the air. Even the wild swings in the temperature, from t-shirts and shorts to sweaters and long johns with winds and spitting snow, herald the coming spring. Our ornamental plum tree has been trying to bud. Last week the reddish pink buds were still encased and protected; now small blooms burst forth in all their white glory. Later we will have a snow storm of white petals blowing in the April breeze.
