"The day is done, and the darkness,The western sky over Columbus, Mississippi on a cool crisp November evening as darkness falls. I loved the clouds still holding on to the last ruby rays of the sun and this same hue blending with a faint golden yellow at the horizon. The evening star probably the planet Venus seems suspended between earth and cloud. This was one of the most beautiful sunsets I had ever seen.
Falls from the wings of Night,
As a feather is wafted downward,
From an eagle in his flight"
~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882)
