Love That Lipstick

Miss Nyssa, age 2, Oklahoma City. (Click picture for larger view) Posted by Picasa
"The distinctive character of a child is to always live in the tangible present."
~ John Ruskin (English Writer and Critic of art, architecture, and society, 1819-1900)
When Nyssa was two years old we still lived in Oklahoma City, her birthplace. She didn't like the sound of the lawn mower so I had to work in the yard while she took her nap. On this day she woke up before I was finished and climbed out of her bed. She found some lipstick ("Mommy, look at the big crayon I found") in the bathroom drawer and "colored" her face. Doesn't she look quite pleased with herself?

Submission for PXITE topic "character". (end of post)
