Nicky: The purrrfect description of my life. (Click picture for larger view)
"Kittens are born with their eyes shut. They open them in about six days, take a look around, then close them again for the better part of their lives." ~ Stephen BakerNicky sleeps at least 20 hours a day. He spends the night with his cohorts in the sunroom, taking his place at the top of the cat tree. In the morning, all the Siamese rush in the door; but Nicky saunters, stopping to nibble some kibble from Maggie's bowl. Then he slowly ambles through the kitchen always watchful and aware of every cat, every human. He eventually makes his way to Mom and Dad's bed and settles down for his daylong sleep. The memory foam mattress holds his body heat and he sees no reason to move. When Mom takes her nap, he's there to warm her feet. Occasionally he will sleep in the den either on her chair or the loveseat. No worries. No responsibilities. Just sun, warm blankets, soft beds, and plenty of naptime. Who wouldn't be able to live "happily ever after" with these luxuries.
Nicky will probably still be sleeping when Friday's Ark comes around. Maybe he will condescend to wake up for the Carnival of the Cats, hosted this week by Niobium. (end of post)
