The Birth of a Mother

New life. (Click picture for larger view) Posted by Picasa
"I think, at a child's birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift would be curiosity." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962)
When a woman gives birth to her first child, two births take place; that of the infant and the birth of a mother. This mother did not exist before and as woman, she is now forever changed; for her new life, her "mother's" life will never end. The child will grow up, perhaps more children will be born, but she will now and forevermore be a mother.

Submission for PXITE topic "birth". (end of post)
