"January brings the snow,Thank you to all who dropped by to wish me a Happy Birthday. It has been a good day and I see some naptime coming. (At my age, any day with naptime is a good day.) My daughter and parents fixed a nice lunch with roast, green beans, potatoes, corn pudding, sweet potatoes and salad with homemade hot rolls. Everything we love but don't need. Topped off with, yes, angel food cake with fluffy white frosting. No candles as this would probably bring the fire department in a minute.
Makes our feet and fingers glow."
~ Sara Coleridge, Pretty Lessons in Verse
After our strange weather of the last couple of days with highs in the upper 60's and lower 70's, a front went through, winds kicked up and temps plummeted last night. It started snowing around 11:30 PM and went to town for about two hours or so. We ended up with about 3/4 of an inch. It was blowing in the 40 mph wind gusts. I think there must have been some ice before the snow began as I found ice under the snow on the windshields this morning and patches on the road on the way to church.
In the midst of the snow storm. 1:00 AM.
