Daylily (Click picture for larger view)

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." ~ Matthew 6: 28-29The daylilies were planted with the wildflower seed and for a while they were overwhelmed by them, living in the shadows. Now they have finally bloomed; blossoms of apricot dipped in rich tangerine and long thin stamen coated with the tenacious pollen dust. In preparing for this shot, I came too close, brushed up against the anthers and came away with shirt and skin stained yellow; a small price to pay for such beauty outside my window.
